2020 was a year full of changes for everyone, including our team here at Westfall Orthodontics! In the final months of 2019, Dr. Westfall purchased an orthodontic practice in Abingdon. Since then, we’ve been working overtime to create an all-new space for your orthodontic care. Keep reading to learn more!
Location is Everything
Our new office location is right in the heart of the historic district of Abingdon. Located on Main Street downtown, the building has a rich history. When the building was initially constructed in 1884, it was the home to Isaac G. and Lucinda Clark. When Lucinda relocated to Cuba, Missouri following her husband’s passing, J.T., and Etta Helms purchased the home and passed it on to their son.
In 1980, Phillip Brown and Andrew Hargroves renovated the building into a restaurant known as PJ Brown’s before transitioning into an Italian restaurant, Alta Cucina. From there, it was purchased by Dr. Bassham, who practiced orthodontics herself.
Needless to say, this building has seen it all! Since finalizing the design in March 2020, we’ve completely re-done everything from floor to ceiling, creating a space where you and your family can receive high-quality care in a welcoming environment.

Also known as ceramic braces, these work just like metal braces. However, since they’re made of clear materials, they provide a more subtle treatment option for patients who don’t want their smiles to stand out. Clear braces can be slightly more fragile and require a bit more attention, so we typically recommend them for older teens and adults.
Invisalign Clear Aligners
The Invisalign clear aligner system straightens teeth without any metal brackets, wires, or bands. They’re nearly invisible and completely removable, which gives you the freedom to eat and drink whatever you want. It’s also easier to maintain your regular oral hygiene routine.
