Dr. Westfall strives to continue the most advanced orthodontic care by participating in continuing education and ongoing training through local and national study clubs. He graduated from Highpoint University with a BS in Chemistry and Biology, before attending the University of West Virginia and earning his Doctorate of Dental Surgery.
He completed a general practice residency at Ruby Memorial Hospital before earning his Masters of Science in Orthodontics from the University of West Virginia.
He's also active in the greater orthodontic community through involvement in the following professional organizations:

Dr. Westfall is certified by the American Board of Orthodontics, which means he already received his license to practice but chose to take an additional exam.
Bristol Braces
Traditional braces are one of the most efficient and effective orthodontic tools in use. The metal or ceramic brackets are attached to the teeth, then connected by wires and tiny rubber bands or elastics. Through regular adjustments with Dr. Westfall, these parts work together to apply gentle pressure, which will gradually move the teeth into the ideal positions.
Because they sometimes work faster at closing gaps and aligning teeth than other options might, overall treatment time can be slightly reduced. Braces also don’t require some of the more complicated technology or expensive equipment that newer treatments can. This makes Bristol braces a cost-effective orthodontic option for patients on a budget. Bristol braces are a great choice for fixing many tooth issues, both simple and complex.
Bristol Invisalign
Instead of brackets and bands, the Bristol Invisalign system uses a series of clear, removable aligners to slowly but consistently move the teeth into alignment. This option is incredibly popular with both patients and orthodontists, so it’s the top alternative to traditional braces.
Invisalign aligners are made of a comfortable plastic material and designed to fit snugly over the patient’s teeth. The trays are virtually invisible and are usually switched out every 1-2 weeks for the next in the series. This keeps the teeth moving in the right direction! Aligners have to be worn 20-22 hours per day throughout treatment for them to do their job. Patients who neglect to wear the aligners as directed can have a negative impact on the results and add time to the orthodontic process.
